It is quite normal to see sagging in the skin over time due to aging and the effects of gravity. During this process, findings such as eyelid bags, loosening, wrinkles, loosening of the skin and discoloration may also occur. At the same time, factors such as exposure to sunlight, irregular sleep, air pollution, excessive alcohol and smoking also have accelerating effects on the aging process of the skin.
Although the skin normally has an elastic structure, the elasticity of the skin gradually decreases with aging. The first signs of loss of elasticity in the facial skin begin to appear in the eyelids and excess skin is first seen to accumulate in the eyelids. Accordingly, it can be said that the first signs of aging occur in the eyelids. Changes in the eyelids due to aging cause the person to look more tired, older and dull than they are. Among the signs of aging seen in the lower and upper eyelids;
Drooping upper eyelids,
-Discoloration and bags under the eyes,
-Crown feet lines at the corners of the eyes,
-Sagging and wrinkling of the eyelid skin,
-Formation of a tired facial expression can be listed.
The loosening of the skin on the eyelids can cause drooping eyelids, and this condition can reach a level that prevents vision in some people. In some cases, drooping eyelids can also be accompanied by drooping eyebrows and forehead. In addition to creating an aesthetically bad appearance, this condition is considered a condition that must be treated functionally.
What is Non-Surgical Eyelid Aesthetics?
Procedures performed to remove excess skin on the eyelids without making any incisions and leaving no scars are called non-surgical eyelid aesthetics. With non-surgical eyelid aesthetics, it is possible to quickly renew the skin surface by affecting it. Thus, excess skin and wrinkles on the eyelids are removed. Skin rejuvenation is achieved without surgery.
Non-surgical eyelid aesthetics is performed with plasma energy treatment. In the method where a device working with plasma energy is used, the effect is achieved by vaporizing the epidermis, which is the top layer of the skin, in the simplest terms. When the remaining skin contracts after the epidermis evaporates, the excess part is removed without surgery.
The tip of the device used in non-surgical eyelid aesthetics produces an electrical energy at very high temperatures and when it is brought close to the surface of the skin, it ionizes atmospheric gases and produces plasma energy. The plasma energy produced turns the keratinocyte cells in the top layer of the skin into gas and tightens the skin. While the treated tissues are converted into gas, the transmission of unwanted heat to the surrounding tissues and subcutaneous layer is prevented. In this way, it is possible for the resulting plasma energy to remain only in the millimetric area seen by the device and the surrounding tissues are not affected.
Why is Non-Surgical Eyelid Aesthetics Performed?
The eyelid has two separate tissue structures, upper and lower. The upper eyelid performs all functions related to the eye as a moving tissue. With the non-surgical eyelid aesthetics application, sagging and wrinkles in the upper eyelid can be eliminated. The eyelid can be lifted by eliminating the drooping eyelid that occurs later or is congenital. In addition, the eyelid can be provided with a tighter tissue.
The lower eyelid is a smaller tissue compared to the upper eyelid and is functionally more in the background. However, it is the tissue that is most quickly affected in terms of appearance due to under-eye wrinkles. With non-surgical eyelid aesthetics, the same effects can be achieved in the lower eyelid as in the upper eyelid.
Non-Surgical Eyelid Aesthetics;
-It can be applied to eliminate patients’ aesthetic concerns,
-Wrinkles around the eyes,
-Sagging and wrinkles that occur due to aging,
-Upper eyelid dysfunction.
Who Can Benefit from Non-Surgical Eyelid Aesthetics?
It is usually applied to people over the age of 35, when signs of aging begin to appear on the eyelids. However, there is no age limit for non-surgical eyelid aesthetics, which can be performed on anyone who needs it medically.
Non-surgical eyelid aesthetics can be applied to anyone with excess skin on the eyelid, but more efficient results can be obtained in people with thin skin. Since the efficiency of the application may decrease as the thickness of the skin increases, the decision on whether or not to perform the application is made by the doctor on a patient-specific basis.
Plasma energy treatment cannot be applied to pregnant women or people with open wounds or infections in the application area.
How is Non-Surgical Eyelid Aesthetics Performed?
Before non-surgical eyelid aesthetics, numbing cream, local anesthesia injection or, rarely, sedation may be preferred to increase the patient’s comfort. When numbness occurs in the application area, laser shots are applied to the lower, upper or both eyelids. The water vapor and nitrogen in the gaseous state in the application area are converted into plasma energy with high energy. In addition to the elimination of problematic tissues on the skin, the process of new tissue formation is also initiated. In this method, which is performed point by point, the application is continued until the removal of excess skin folds is seen with the eye.
The regeneration effect created by plasma energy treatment continues to increase in the application area, and the application does not affect the capillaries, hair follicles, nerve and fat tissues.
What is the Process After Non-Surgical Eyelid Aesthetics?
In non-surgical eyelid aesthetics, swelling and crusting occur in the application area after plasma energy treatment applied to the lower and upper eyelids. The edema that occurs varies from person to person, but usually resolves within 5 days at the latest. During this period, doctors may recommend using an edema-dissolving solution. The application area should be cleaned using a neutral soap with a pH value of 5.5 and should not come into contact with products containing alcohol in any way. It is recommended to use only products containing benzalkonium chloride as a disinfectant.
The crusts that form after the application should not be covered using any tape or plaster. The tissue that evaporates and becomes a crust due to the effect of the application falls off in an average of 7 to 20 days. It is very important not to remove these crusts and wait for them to fall off on their own. In addition, the use of moisturizing cream should be avoided to soften the area.
During the healing process, it is recommended to apply a thick liquid foundation block to protect the application area from the sun and artificial lights. Liquid foundations containing sun protection factor should be renewed every few hours from the moment you wake up in the morning until you go to bed at night. Before going to bed, it should be cleaned with neutral soap without rubbing, and after applying a 10-minute edema-dissolving wet dressing, only the crusts should be treated with eye drops recommended by the doctor.
The duration of plasma energy treatment may vary depending on individual differences. The effect, which lasts at least 2-3 years, may be shorter in people with thick skin. Repeating the procedure may provide more permanent results. Complete recovery must be waited for the application to be repeated. This period is accepted as 3-6 months at the earliest. Eyelid problems where plasma treatment is applied can be maintained for 2-3 years depending on the immediate biostimulation that occurs in the areas. However, it is not a permanent procedure since it is not possible to resist aging, time and gravity. However, the effect of delaying the need for and time of eyelid surgery can be evaluated as a great advantage that cannot be ignored.
Will There Be Any Scars After Non-Surgical Eyelid Aesthetics?
There will be no scars after non-surgical eyelid aesthetics. However, the time required for the color change in the application area to disappear may vary from person to person. In order for this period to proceed quickly and healthily, it is very important not to neglect the use of sunscreen and foundation. It is possible that this period may be a little longer for people with dark skin and those with zinc and iron deficiencies.
Scalpel-free solution for eyelids!
Non-surgical eyelid aesthetics are now performed without the need for surgery with new technologies. This method, applied with a device called Plasma BT, provides successful results without incisions or stabbing.
Droopy eyelids are a skin sagging condition that makes people look older. If the eyelid does not immediately return to its former state within 2-3 seconds after being stretched by hand, it can be said that there is a loss of elasticity in that area. This situation can even lead to a narrowing of the field of vision. Patients with such symptoms are suitable for non-surgical eyelid aesthetics, but it is recommended that this procedure be performed in the winter months when the sun is less visible.
Advanced-stage eyelid droopiness may require surgery, and this is again expected to be decided by the doctor. However, for patients who do not want to go under the knife and for droopiness that has not progressed too much, the new technology plasma energy-producing device called ‘Plasma BT’ is suitable for this procedure. Especially upper eyelid droopiness can regain its former appearance in this way.
During plasma CT, a special head is used to focus on only the upper layer of the skin area and a controlled and minimal damage is given. Thus, fibroblast production in the area in question is triggered. Fibroblasts are cells that play a very important role in the skin, producing collagen and elastin that provide youth and vitality to the skin. Since the device supports this production, recovery and tension are seen in the upper layer of the skin. Plasma CT takes approximately 30 minutes and is applied once. It is recommended to use sunscreen for approximately 15-20 days afterwards. Patients who are checked after 1 month can have a touch-up if necessary. The first differences start to be seen within 15 days.
After the procedure, small swellings and redness may occur on the eyelid, but no serious bruising is observed. Patients can return to their social lives within 2-3 days.
