Facial Perfection

I was born on May 18, 1980 in Ankara. Since my father was also a doctor, I spent my childhood in different cities: Ankara, Eskişehir, Istanbul, and Erzincan. We were in Erzincan as a family for the compulsory service of my father. And it lasted for a total of 6 years! Therefore, I completed my primary education in Erzincan. I became familiar with the Anatolian culture there and made valuable friends for life. During the large Erzincan earthquake in 1992, our building totally fell into ruin. In our apartment as part of SSI lodgings, we were saved from the wreckage and started our second life as the whole family. Then we came to Istanbul. I completed my secondary education and high school studies in Hüseyin Avni Sözen Anatolian High School that was considered one of the best schools in the city. I owe the infrastructure and the foundation of the worldview that I have today to that school. After completing high school in 1998, I entered the faculty of medicine that was always in my mind. In 2004, I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Istanbul Yeditepe University. Then I met the exam called TUS (examination for specialty in medicine). I studied for 12 hours a day between four walls by isolating myself from the earthly life for 1 year. Lucky me, I was not alone on this. Since there were also other friends like me, this supported me to study. I entered my second preference after a long period of study. Between the years 2006 and 2012, I completed my specialization study in the Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Department in Istanbul Göztepe Training and Research Hospital of the Ministry of Health. Working in such a hospital with so many patients was both tiring and educative. There, I got used to sleepless and all the livelong guard duties. Of course, so many patients that I saw there would make an important contribution to my medicine life later. Then, it was time for compulsory service. I drew lots for Niğde. Between the years 2012 and 2013, I completed my compulsory service as an Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Specialist in Niğde Public Hospital. There is a saying among doctors. They say, “One will cry both while starting the compulsory service and while leaving it”. And that was really true. I spent so beautiful 2 years that I even thought about not returning to Istanbul. It was very nice both in terms of medicine and social life. I have true friends from there whom I still contact very closely. Following the compulsory service, I had to resign from my public service in order to be able to return to Istanbul. I served as an Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Specialist in Private Göztepe Hospital. Today, I work in Gelişim Medical Laboratories. I love making research, working, and bustling around.   I have served in my clinic Spec. Dr. Şafak Göktaş’ Clinic since 2015. In my clinic that I opened for medical esthetic operations, I perform the operations such as enzymatic lipolysis, botox, filler, mesotherapy, PRP, skin rejuvenation, hand rejuvenation, botox for treatment purposes (for sweating, grinding of teeth), non-operative eyelid esthetics, blemish treatment, cellulite treatment, glutathione and alpha-lipoic acid treatment to strengthen the immune system, under eye light filling, needleless mesotherapy, and lymphatic drainage.   In order to develop myself also in this area, I have had the chance to participate in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Mestder (Medical Esthetic Association) Congresses, Mezoder (Mesotherapy Association) Congress, International IMCAS Paris Congress, International AMWC Congress held in Monaco, Dubai Derma Congress, and SIME Congress held in Rome, Italy since 2015. In 2020, I started my master’s degree in medical esthetics at Camerino University (which was established in 1336 and which is one of the oldest universities in Italy) in Rome, Italy. In terms of medical esthetics, I participated in the certificate programs of Ozone Application (Traditional and Complementary Medical Applications Center of Istanbul Medeniyet University) and Mesotherapy Application (Complementary Medical Application and Research Center of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University). I also serve as a lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at Maltepe University. I regularly give lectures in the faculty of medicine in English.

I believe what makes one the happiest is helping others. It is very precious for me to help persons who want to feel better and have a more esthetic look with natural touches. Since I can do this almost every day, I think I have found the right profession for me.
