The skin that covers the entire human body tends to be thin and dry due to its structure. Especially due to aging, the loss of fat and connective tissue proteins such as collagen and elastin that protect the skin structure, the negative effects caused by sun rays, cell deaths, subcutaneous fat accumulation due to excess weight and similar reasons make it difficult for the skin to maintain its proper form. The skin begins to plump up and lose its effectiveness under the influence of the aforementioned factors. As the skin on the cheeks and around the mouth becomes vulnerable to gravity, a swollen and ugly structure called a double chin is formed in the area under the chin, obscuring the jawline. The fact that the chin is smaller than normal can also be counted among the causes of double chin formation.
What is Double Chin Lipolysis?
In order to eliminate excess fat and sagging in the double chin area due to various reasons, the subcutaneous fat in the relevant area is melted with ultrasonic sound waves or laser and turned into liquid, and the melted fat is excreted by the body on its own without the need for any intervention, the double chin lipolysis procedure is defined as the procedure.
The chin lipolysis procedure can be applied to anyone who has a problem in the chin area, regardless of age or gender, and who does not have a medical condition that is against the application. The chin, jawline and neck area can be treated with the chin lipolysis procedure.
Why is chin lipolysis performed?
Burning, melting and removing excess fat with laser beams is the most commonly used method to get rid of subcutaneous fat. In the lipolysis technique, the melted fat is absorbed by the body and excreted through urine, without requiring any surgical intervention.
Who is Beneficial for Double Chin Lipolysis?
The double chin lipolysis procedure is considered to be a highly advantageous method because it is not a surgical intervention, can be applied to small areas, has a comfortable and short recovery period, tightens the skin, the patient can quickly return to daily life and causes minimal sagging in the skin.
Having a prominent double chin can cause the face to look fatter, rounder and older. Due to the fat in the double chin, the face and neck begin to appear as a whole and the person’s face becomes larger and the neck shorter. The fat tissue removed from the double chin reshapes the double chin line and creates a distinct transition between the neck and face. The person feels much thinner and younger.
Double chin lipolysis procedure;
-It can provide effective results in people who have excessive fat in the chin area for various reasons,
-Have sagged in the chin area due to excessive weight loss,
-Have sagged chin due to aging and gravity,
-Have lost the elasticity of the tissues in the neck area due to wear and tear,
-Have deformation problems due to the negative effects of smoking,
-Have premature sagging in the chin area due to genetic predisposition.
How is Chin Lipolysis Applied?
Chin lipolysis is a medical aesthetic procedure applied by entering the fat in the area with a needle and exposing the fat in the area. Its difference from the enzymatic lipolysis procedure is that a different drug is applied at a lower dose. There is no need for any preliminary preparation before the chin lipolysis procedure. In order for the patient not to feel any pain and ache during the application, the local anesthesia applied to the area is waited for approximately 10 minutes to take effect before the procedure. A total of 3 cc of medication is injected during the procedure. Very small redness and swelling may occur after the procedure. However, this situation will resolve itself within a few days.
After the procedure is completed, the patient is asked to massage the lymph nodes with the back of their hand several times a day. The second session is applied 2 weeks after chin lipolysis. The chin lipolysis procedure is usually completed in 2 or 3 sessions. If the person continues their diet as in the lipolysis procedure after chin lipolysis, there will be no re-fattening. If too much alcohol and pastries are consumed, re-fattening may occur. After chin lipolysis, sagging is corrected and problems in the chin are corrected by approximately 90%.
After the procedure, the patient is given ice for about 10 minutes. Then they can continue their daily life where they left off. As with other medical aesthetic procedures, sports and alcohol consumption should be avoided for 24 hours after chin lipolysis.
What is the Process After the Double Chin Lipolysis Procedure?
Double chin lipolysis is usually applied under local anesthesia and the person is discharged shortly after the procedure. After the application, the patient needs to use double chin massage for 5-7 days and nights, and then only at night for 2 weeks. In this way, the edema in the application area as a result of the fats removed from the double chin is easily dispersed. The skin tightens and easily adapts to its new location above.
Although pain is not common after the double chin lipolysis procedure, if a slight pain is felt, the problem can be solved with simple painkillers. If bruising and edema occur, they usually resolve on their own within 1 week. Care should be taken not to let water touch the area for 2 days after the double chin lipolysis procedure.
The decrease observed in the double chin after the double chin lipolysis procedure takes its final appearance within 2 weeks with the recovery of the application area and healing of the connective tissue.
Is Double Chin Lipolysis Permanent?
The permanence of the chin lipolysis procedure is usually 5-10 years, but factors such as the patient not paying attention to their lifestyle, gaining and losing weight very often, smoking, and the effects of aging can cause the results to lose their permanence over time.
Since chin sagging depends on age, genetic structure, gender, and weight, the appearance that occurs due to aging is more common in people who gain and lose weight very often and are very overweight. People who have chin aesthetics with surgical or non-surgical methods should be careful to control their weight and take good care of themselves.
